This is a Mino ware donburi bowl manufactured in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture.
It can be used for chazuke (rice with tea), as a large rice bowl, or as a simmered dish bowl.
Paikaji is a word in the Okinawan dialect meaning south wind.
Pai = South
Kaji = Wind
Literally translated, it means south wind.
In Okinawa, it is used with a positive and gentle image, referring to a warm and pleasant wind, or a wind that signals a change of seasons.
