Hakdei Black Porcelain "Jingdezhen" Teacup & Saucer Set (Purchased in Hong Kong)

These are distinctive cups and saucers made by Jingdezhen, the same manufacturer used at the famous Hong Kong cafe, Halfway Coffee. While the cafe's items are antiques, these are likely modern reproductions. Please see the details below along with the photos.

◎ Tea Cup
Purchased at a select shop in Mong Kok called Hei Dei, which is popular with Japanese tourists. There were no matching saucers with the same pattern, and at the shop, it was paired with a different metal saucer. It is smaller than the cups used at the cafe, with a diameter of about 9.5 cm, excluding the handle. It is slightly thin, and the familiar rice-grain-like textured pattern on this type of pottery is translucent when held up to the light. Gold is also used on the rim, the inner bottom, and sides, so it is not microwave-safe.
I noticed after returning home that a small part of the foot rim on the bottom is chipped. This does not affect its use and is not sharp enough to cause injury, but please be aware.

◎ Small Plate
I found this at a tableware shop in Yau Ma Tei, which is similar to Kappabashi in Tokyo, while searching for a plate that would match the cup. It has the same dragon pattern on the bottom as the cup, but the colors in the pattern are darker than on the cup. Since it is not a saucer, it is not stable when a cup is placed on it. Gold is also used on this item.
While the pattern is in the same style, the thickness differs from the cup; this plate is thicker, so the rice-grain-like textured areas are not translucent. This makes it feel more durable, so it seems capable of holding accessories or keys. The size is approximately 10 cm in diameter.

I collect items like these, but I am downsizing as I have accumulated too many. These are inherently rustic and casual pottery, so I am offering them to those who understand this characteristic and can enjoy the exotic, chinoiserie, and antique-like feel. This is for those who want to experience a taste of Hong Kong without being able to go there.
