Description
Up for sale is a beautiful piece of late Victorian-era American ironstone: a small pitcher produced by the East Palestine Pottery Company (E.P.P. Co.) out of East Palestine, Ohio. Based on the maker's mark on the bottom, this piece dates back to the late 1800s or very early 1900s (circa 1880–1904). This charming pitcher features the company's premium Marquette shape/molding, showcasing elegant embossed swirls, a scalloped rim, an ornate handle, and delicate gold trim. It is decorated with a festive holiday motif of green holly leaves and red winter berries, making it a perfect addition to a Christmas display or a collection of antique Ohio pottery. This is a century-old antique and shows signs of age. It features gorgeous, heavy all-over glaze crazing which gives it a wonderful, authentic farmhouse aesthetic. The design is bright and crisp. There is minor, expected wear to the gold gilt trim along the edges and handle. There are some age discolorations spots on one side. Please review the high-resolution photos carefully to assess the character and condition of this beautiful piece for yourself.
