Description
Art deco vintage Louis Rousselet necklace comprised of glass and galalith beads strung on a foxtail chain with a beehive shaped barrel or screw clasp, circa the late 1920s to early 1930s. The beads include deep amber swirl uranium glass beads, ivory colored carved and round galalith beads, and glass pearl spacer beads coated in essence d’orient (a Rousselet classic - a special glass enamel that incorporated fish scales to provide a pearly sheen). The clasp is marked Made in France. End to end unclasped, the necklace is about 16.75 inches long. The last two photos show the glow of the uranium glass beads under UV light.
