A striking hand-worked crazy quilt block measuring approximately 16” × 16”, richly embellished with decorative embroidery, beadwork, dimensional floral stitching, metallic thread, and an impressive variety of seam treatments.  Pieced from jewel-toned fabrics including burgundy, purple, navy, forest green, and gold, the block features satin-, brocade-, and velvet-like textures. Nearly every seam is enhanced with intricate hand embroidery, giving the piece the look of one-of-a-kind textile art.  Details include floral vines, tiny beaded blossoms, raised dimensional flowers, scrolling motifs, geometric seam patterns, decorative latticework, and a metallic-thread spiderweb motif. The reverse shows the cotton/muslin foundation and extensive hand stitching used in its construction.
