René Gruau was an illustrator and fashion designer born in Italy in 1909, who later moved to Paris. In an era before photography played a commercial advertising role, he supported the early days of the Christian Dior brand through advertising design alongside Christian Dior, and was active as a key figure in the glamorous fashion world in the 1940s and 50s, appearing in Parisian high fashion magazines such as Vogue.
These originals, cut from a 1990s art book, are now extremely rare and valuable items. Gruau's works, in particular, are highly sought after by collectors worldwide, and pieces in good condition are very precious.
